Can I travel to Ivory Coast with an Ecowas passport?
The ECOWAS passport is a common passport document for several West African countries. The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) member states have adopted the common design for the passport. It was established to facilitate unlimited intra-regional travel for citizens of member countries. The passport is valid for travel within the sub-region as well as for international travel.
Except for nationals of ECOWAS member countries and countries that have signed special agreements with Côte d'Ivoire, entry into Côte d'Ivoire requires a visa. A valid passport is also required for entry into Côte d'Ivoire. For ECOWAS nationals, a national identity card suffices.
Moreover, Ethiopian passport holders can use a national passport as a relevant document for an Ivory Coast e-Visa. Remember to check Ivory Coast e-Visa requirements for Ethiopian citizens before applying for this type of visa. It is noted that the national passport must be valid for at least 06 months from the date of arrival.
