What are the documents needed at the port of entry?
When entering Ivory Coast with an electronic visa (e-visa) at the port of entry, specifically Port Bouet Airport in Abidjan, you will have to show some papers to get the visa stamped in your passport.
1) The printed DST approval (pre-visa or let-off)
After your e-visa application is approved, you’ll receive a pre-enrollment document via email. You must print this and present it at the airport, where immigration authorities will issue your final e-visa after biometric enrollment (e.g., fingerprints and photo). Taking fingerprints for those aged 12 and older. It is not required for minors under 12 years old, but they have to be present.
2) Passport
The same passport used during your e-visa application must be valid for at least six months from your date of arrival in the Ivory Coast.
3) The international certificate of vaccination against yellow fever
An international certificate proving you’ve been vaccinated against yellow fever is mandatory for all travelers entering Ivory Coast, regardless of e-visa status.
4) For Minors (Children)
In addition to the above:
- Child’s Birth Certificate: To prove a relationship.
- Parent(s)’ Passport Copies: Copies of parent/guardian passports.
- Consent Letter (if needed): If traveling alone or with one parent, a notarized consent letter.
It’s also wise to carry proof of your travel plans (like flight tickets or accommodation details) in case they’re needed for clarification.
Upon arrival, immigration officials will verify these documents, conduct biometric enrollment, and then provide you with the physical e-visa, allowing entry. By preparing these documents in advance, you can ensure a smooth and hassle-free entry into Ivory Coast.
