What are the entry ports to enter Ivory Coast?
In Ivory Coast (Côte d'Ivoire), the e-visa system is designed to facilitate entry for travelers, primarily through the country's main international gateway.
Primary Entry Port for E-Visa
Applicants whose visa applications have been approved are at present required to enter the Ivory Coast through only one entry point, which is Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport (Abidjan).
Travelers with an e-visa must fly into Abidjan and present their e-visa approval letter at the Visa on Arrival counter to receive their visa sticker.
Other Entry Ports
Apart from Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport (Abidjan), the Ivory Coast eVisa is not valid for entry at any other airport or border checkpoint in the country. If you plan to enter through a different port by air, land or sea, you will need to apply for a regular visa at an Ivory Coast embassy/consulate before traveling.

Practical Tips
- Abidjan, by air, is the safest and most straightforward option for most travelers, especially first-timers.
- Land crossings are viable if you’re coming from a neighboring country, but infrastructure and security vary—Ghana’s Elubo-Noé route is the most reliable.
- Always check the current border status.
- Besides the visa, a Yellow Fever Certificate is mandatory for all travelers entering the Ivory Coast, regardless of the entry point. You may need to show it upon arrival or departure.
